During the early part of 2011, I was commissioned by a small family-owned business to design a web site for their allergy-free foods focused business. The motivating influence behind Allergy Free Central is the constant need to bring people with allergies an alternative that can improve their quality of life. Allergy Free Central wants to provide consumers across the United States looking for alternatives to foods with gluten and other allergens.

When they approached me about the project, they already prepared color-swatches that they wanted to work with plus some initial page UI sketches. Since the color swatches were photo based I immediately simplified the color swatches and requested them to verify their selection. I also enhanced the sketches into streamlined wireframes and offered additional options. Furtermore, advised the client on what technology platform to use to easily manage their inventory and site content management.

The UI and visual design process for the Allergy Free Central website went through several iterations and the final design was handed over to the developer working on the project.
