Working with the Digital Lifetime Relationship Marketing team, IT’s User Experience team is helping to develop concepts for My Next Nokia, a web-based product recommender tool. We’ve created several prototypes to explore various user interface ideas and gather feedback from stakeholders. From initial sketches, to functional prototypes, we visualized business requirements in a way that accelerates decision-making. By showing possibilities before development, we arrive at solutions better suited to business and end-user needs before development begins.

We presented several different concepts. With all of these approaches we’ve tried to provide a balanced user interface that allows the user to search or browse by lifestyle-related themes while still supporting access via features, model number, etc. The different concepts illustrate a variety of features, functions and integration points as a way to show potential aspects of My Next Nokia. Out of the prototypes, a hybrid and Smooth Flow were selected to be developed into a higher fidelity prototype that was tested and reviewed by the stakeholders. The two concepts was later developed by external verdors and was implemented in different markets.

Hybrid prototype

We also developed a higher-fidelity prototype and connected it to a Ruby-on-Rails app that generates an XML feed of phones and phone data can be managed.
